Lance Cpl. David Jenkins, United States Marine Corps, salutes while others recite the pledge of allegiance Thursday during a patriotic rally in Central Park. Jenkins graduated from Plainview High School in 2006 and recently completed a tour of duty in Iraq. The rally included music and vocal selections by the Emmanuel Baptist Church orchestra and music ministry. All branches of the armed forces were honored and veterans of past and current wars were given a special tribute.
