An Oklahoma City man died early Sunday when the boat he was driving crashed onto rocks at the railroad bridge near Alberta Creek on Lake Texoma.
According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troop E reports, 49-year-old Jeffery Bain was taken by ambulance to Integris County Hospital at Madill, where he was pronounced dead from massive injuries following the 3:20 a.m. crash.
Audry Bain, 21, Oklahoma City, identified as a passenger on the boat, was also taken to the Madill medical facility, where she was treated for a head injury and later released. A second passenger, identified as 20-year-old Chad Burnett, Meeker, was not injured.
Bain was reportedly piloting a 1990 32-foot Baja en route from Lows High Port Marina in Texas to the Alberta Creek Marina. The boat was traveling approximately 65 mph when it struck the rocks at the bridge. The crash sent the boat 20 feet onto the rocks. Bain was ejected during the crash.
Bain and the two passengers were taken by private pontoon boat to Alberta Creek to seek medical assistance.
The cause of the accident is listed as driving under the influence.
