Lone Grove officer appeals termination

A police patrol officer recently fired for an alleged drug possession by her husband has appealed her termination to the municipal personnel board.

Attorney M. Elizabeth Clark requested the hearing for Officer Kristy Buchanan. City Clerk Terri Downs posted a required notice Thursday.

Personnel board members Dicky Welch, Monty Jones and Gary Hicks are scheduled to meet at 6;30 p.m. today at the Municipal Building council room.

The board is expected to conduct an executive session to review the matter before returning to an open session for open discussion and a possible vote.
