Services for Don V. Cummings are scheduled for Monday at 10 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Patman and Rev. Truman Ferguson officiating; interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Family visitation will be this evening from 7 to 8 at the funeral home.

Don was born January 1, 1924, in Ardmore to John Ewing and Della Mae Thomas Cummings. He passed this life November 5, 2009, in a local hospital. He and Gayle Bennett were married September 9, 1951, in Ardmore.

Don was an avid Oklahoma Sooner football fan and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Don was a member of the Ardmore High School Class of 1942.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle of the home; two sons, Terry Van Cummings of Dallas, Texas, and Gary Don Cummings and his wife Sherry of Ardmore; one sister, Billye Joy Craighead and her husband Tommy of Ardmore; grandchildren, Kimberly Dawn Moore and her husband Chris, Cara Gayle Buenting and her husband Robert, Brett Price and wife Kinzie and Garrett Dylan Cummings all of Ardmore; four great-grandchildren, Makayla and Robert Buenting, Layla Moore and Trey Price; nephews, Tommy Don Craighead and his wife Marilyn of Norman, Mel Van Craighead and his wife Deana of Ardmore; niece, Lana Martin and husband Steve of Ardmore; and sister-in-law, Judy McBay of Tulsa, Ok.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joyce Vanoy Cummings.
Serving as pallbearers will be Warren Wood, Tim Berryhill, Wayman Woodley, John Yarbrough, Bill Brady, John Anderson, O.L. “Hobo” Gilstrap, E. Don Flanagan, Jack McGahey, Marland Vance, Don Jackson and Tommy Craighead.

Memorials may be left to the First Christian Church or the First Methodist Church or the Charity of your choice.
