Funeral services for Mrs. Susanne Jolliff, 69, of Wilson are scheduled for 1 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Wilson. Additional services will also be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 6 at the Resthaven Memory Garden Little Chapel in Oklahoma City with interment following at Resthaven Memory Garden Cemetery. All services will be officiated by Rev. Sherry Kendrick of the Methodist Church in Wilson. Funeral services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.
Susanne was born Oct. 16, 1939, in Oklahoma City to the late Mr. Dean Carl Oldham II and Mrs. Velma Maidel (Holland) Oldham. She departed this life Sunday Aug. 2, 2009 at Houston after an extended illness.
Susanne or more commonly understood as “My Little Red Hen” was reared in Oklahoma City graduating from Putman City High School. She married Mr. Dan Jolliff Dec. 22, 1956, at Oklahoma City. To this union came three children, Dan D., Gregory James, and Minnette. Initially residing in Oklahoma City, they lived at Enid awhile before making their home in Wilson in 1969.
Susanne held four successful careers—devoted homemaker, Real Estate Agent, Owner and Office Manager of Coffee Professionals and a strong working relationship with the Lord. She always lived life to the fullest, at all times being Dan’s “Little Red Hen”, constantly taking care of everyone and everything. Susanne was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church of Wilson.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one sister, Dellette Kortzkens.
Survivors include her husband Dan of the home; daughter, Minnette Ellison and husband Leon of Houston; two sons, Dan D. Jolliff and wife Cameron of Moore and Greg Jolliff and wife Margaret of Lone Grove; brother, Dean Carl Oldham III of Yukon; seven grandchildren, Julie Ellison, Jennifer Ellison, Kyle Jolliff, Dan N. Jolliff, Blake Ellison, Evan Jolliff and Kailyn Jolliff; and numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers are Kyle Jolliff, Evan Jolliff, Blake Ellison, Dan N. Jolliff, Derek Huddleston and D.C. Oldham IV.
The family has requested that memorial donations be made to American Heart Association for the Women’s Heart Program, P.O. Box 15186, Austin, TX 78761.
