Funeral services for Kenneth Eugene Burch, 87, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at the Centennial Chapel of the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with the Reverend Rick Baggett officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until service time.
The son of William Callaway Burch and (Lue Payne) Burch, Kenneth, was born on January 17, 1925, in Springer, Oklahoma, and passed away at his Ardmore residence on January 28, 2012.
He and the former Melba Ruth Meek were married February 24, 1998, in Abilene, Texas.
An Ardmore resident since 1999, moving back here from Texas, Kenneth grew up in Springer, Oklahoma. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of Delta Phi Delta. He retired from Vought Manufacturing in Dallas, Texas, as a technical illustrator. Kenneth enjoyed feeding the birds, painting and was a self-taught banjo player. He was a member of the Ardmore Art Guild.
He is survived by his wife, Melba Ruth Burch of the home; son, Gary Kenneth Burch and wife, Evelyn of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Ryan Kenneth Burch and James Tyler Burch; and sister, Peggy Joyce Cipriani of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers and sisters, Gertrude, Callie, Richard, Blanche, Clyde, Vonda, Frankie, Jack and Bert.
