Funeral services for Shirley Norine Bryant, 70, will be Monday morning at 10 a.m. with Mr. Ben Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
The daughter of Levi and Myrtle Pearl Langston Gilliam, Shirley was born August 21, 1940, here in Ardmore and passed away August 25, 2010, in a local hospital.
She and Kenneth J. Bryant were married December 8, 1956, in Ardmore.
A lifelong resident of Ardmore, Shirley had managed the Chief Motel, worked for the Marietta Pants Factory and helped her husband manage Ardmore Furniture. She was also a dedicated mother and grandmother. She was of the Church of Christ faith.
She is survived by her husband of the home; sons, Kenneth Anthony “Tony” and Kelly Jonathan Bryant; daughter, Linda LaFaye Wilson; her sister, Geneva Long all of Ardmore; brother, James T. Gilliam of Irving, Texas; grandchildren, Jonathan Kendall, Jacob Kelsey, Kenneth Keenan, Christopher Clark, Taylor Grace, and Hollie Inez Bryant; and two great grandchildren, Kenneth Karson and Zachary Allen Bryant.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mildred Marie Pennington, Myrtle Juanita Pennington, and Betty Jean Gilliam; and a brother T. D. Gilliam.
Serving as bearers will be Jonathan, Jacob, Christopher and Keenan Bryant, Levi and David Gilliam. Honorary bearers will be Danny Pennington, Roger Gilliam and Morgan Lee.
A time of visitation and support for the family will be held this afternoon at the funeral home from 3 till 4 p.m.
