Funeral services for Mrs. Wanda Lou (Campbell) Pratt, 71, of Lone Grove is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. David Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at the Lone Grove Cemetery in Lone Grove. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Wanda was born January 23, 1941, at Gainesville, Texas, to the late Mr. Joseph Roscoe Campbell and Mrs. Carrie Lou (Moss) Campbell. She departed this life Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Norman, Okla.
Wanda moved to Plainview when she was in the fifth grade. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1961. She attended drafting school in Oklahoma City. There she met and soon married Mr. George W. Pratt on October 17, 1963, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ardmore. They resided at Oklahoma City until making their permanent residence in Lone Grove in 1968.
Wanda was a very talented person. She enjoyed painting and sculpting pottery. Years ago she was a very aggressive race car driver in the powder puff division and was also a very competitive team roper. Most folks knew her from working at Felts Grocery in Lone Grove for 15 years. She also was employed a short while at Bluebonnet Feed Mill of Ardmore. Wanda was a member of the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church of Lone Grove.
Preceding her in death was her parents; and one infant sister, named Linda.
Survivors include her husband, George of the home; two daughters, Sheila Keeton and husband, Mike of Lone Grove, and Sadie Bella Gayle Melton of Ardmore; son, Larry Pratt of South Dakota; sisters, Katy Lane of Rio Vista, Texas, and Brenda Campbell of Ellijay, Ga.; brother, Rossie Kent Campbell of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Lydia Joy Melton, Bijoux Chnel Melton, Lori Keeton and Megan Keeton; special friend, Ann Rothrock of Winslow, Arkansas; and numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers are Devon Punneo, Jackie Rabe, Robert Rabe, Jimmy Day, Joe Lane and Wesley Riffenburg.
Honorary bearers will be Roy Hamilton, Larry Mayton, Bill Duvall, Bill Payne and Marty Lane.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 this evening at Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.
