Sherri Lynne Menke, 56, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, in Ardmore, Okla. The family will greet visitors and friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home.
Sherri was born June 3, 1953, in Monterey Park, Calif., to Robert Dale Menke and Joan Corwin Menke. She liked reading mystery books and enjoyed fishing. Sherri loved being with her newspaper friends and having them in her home for gatherings..
She was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Menke; maternal grandparents, Ted and Eva Corwin; and her paternal grandparents, Charles and Leona Menke.
Sherri is survived by her father, Robert Menke; three sisters, Janene Turner and her husband Allan of Yukon, Okla., Robin Corrigan and her husband Bobby of Springer, Okla., and Terri Newcomb and her husband Greg of Ardmore, Okla.; brother, James Menke and his wife Denise of Ardmore; nieces and nephews, Myka Wilcox, Chris Turner and his wife Misty, Phillip Corrigan and his fiance’ Jamie, Toni Strack and her husband Bobby, Rob Corrigan and his wife Mika, Shane Newcomb and his wife Nancy, Jayson Newcomb, Heather Sapena and her husband Todd, Toshia Neal and her husband Chris; and 14 great-nieces and nephews.
