Oita Doris (Cutie) Burton, 86 of Ardmore, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010, at the hospital in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She was born on January 12, 1924, in Lebanon, Oklahoma to the late Andy Lee Colson and Betty Elizabeth Snider Colson. Cutie was raised in Mannsville and graduated from Mannsville High School. She married Leonard L. Burton on June 28, 1947, in Ardmore. Cutie lived in Mannsville most of her life until she moved to the Lake of the Arbuckle’s in 1986 and later to Ardmore in 2006, where she lived the rest of her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mannsville. Cutie enjoyed crosswords, reading National Geographic, gardening, flowers and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and family.                

 

She is survived by her husband, Leonard Burton, Ardmore, Oklahoma; children, Calvin Burton and wife, Tuya, Mannsville, Oklahoma, Becky Coffman and husband, Jimmie, Ardmore, Oklahoma, Pete Burton and wife Rita, Simpson, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Wade Coffman, Christi Coffman, Tim McCool, Heather McLean, Cheyenne Burton and Cierra Burton; 13 great-grandchildren, Jonathan Muhl, Bodee Coffman, Dakota Coffman, Caleb Coffman, Isaac Coffman, Ryan McCool, Brittany McCool, Hannah McCool, Jaycee McLean, Zane Henderson, Alia Henderson, Colbie McLean, Lyric Burton; brother, Terry Colson, Yale, Oklahoma.

 

Cutie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers; Dallas (Scrub), Buck and Jack and sisters, Bouneva Bean and Sitter Dewbre.

 

Funeral services will be Monday, August 30, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Mannsville Oklahoma. Interment will be at the Mannsville Cemetery, Mannsville, Oklahoma. Frank Simpson will officiate the services. Music will be arranged by the Ginger Cothran. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma.

 

Casket Bearers are Wade Coffman, Ryan McCool, Tim McCool, Jonathan Muhl, David Bynum and Steve Bean.  Visitation will be Sunday, August 29, 2010 from noon to 9 p.m. at Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma.
