Services for Virginia L. “Ginnie” Evans, 89, of Marietta, Okla., will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010, in Marietta’s First Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Higle officiating. Interment will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, Oklahoma, directed by Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta.

Born June 29, 1920, in Centralia, Ill., the daughter of Thomas and Louise Douglas Goodman, Mrs. Evans passed away Friday, March 12, 2010, in Southbrook Healthcare Facility, Ardmore.
A resident of Love County for the past 41 years, Mrs. Evans was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Centralia High in 1937 and was a telephone operator until her marriage to C.B. Evans Jr. on December 11, 1940, in St. Charles, Mo.  He preceded her in death March 1, 1993. Her hobbies included fishing, RV’ing and writing poetry. She was a member of  the First Baptist Church of Marietta. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were her parents and a son, Meredith R. Evans on September 18, 2001.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Monty J. and Vickie Evans of Henrico N.C.; daughter, Kay Dunnavent of Ardmore, Okla.; daughter-in-law, Pat Evans of Greenville, Okla.; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Bearers will be Reagan Evans, Rick Evans, Chase Evans, Jerry Dunnavent, Cal Blackwell and Mark Segler. Honorary bearers will be the Winsome Sunday School Class.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at  Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
