Funeral services for Joseph Mack “Zip” Bailey will be at 1 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2012, at CrystalRock Cathedral with Dr. Walt Spradling officiating. Interment will be private for family.
Joseph better known as “Zip” was born November 1, 1981, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Geary Mack and Brenda Stone Bailey. He passed from this life on January 28, 2012, in Oklahoma City at the age of 30.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pairlee and Clarence Bailey; great-grandparents, Charles and Beatrice Ross; uncle, C.S. McKinnon; and brothers-in-law, Cody Joe Wade and Brett Spells.
Joey was a lifelong resident of this area. He graduated from Dickson High School with the class of 2000 where he was a member of the FFA, wood shop, football and power lifting team. He attended Murray State College and graduated from there in 2003.
Joey and Ashley Cox were married on July 9, 2005 in Ardmore. He was on the crude unit at Valero and also worked for the Dickson and Gene Autry Fire Departments and was a member of the MRCA, PRCA, and CrystalRock Cathedral in Ardmore.
Joey was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, grandson and friend. He always had a huge smile that was infectious. He loved attending church with his granny who was the preacher. He was always excited about attending his church, CrystalRock Cathedral. He told Dr. Spradling that he just wanted more of Jesus. He was always there for his mother, father, brother and sisters. He loved them dearly. Joey was ready to go fishing because his goal was to catch the biggest catfish ever. His “Heaven on Earth” was the Washita River, where he spent most of his fishing time trying to fulfill that goal.
Joey was a devoted husband and father. His special name for Ashley was Dreams. Anyone could see how much he loved her and his children. He taught them and showed them so much love in just a short time, but they will never forget him. Anyone whoever saw Joey knew that his loyal and faithful companion, Sadie, would be close by. She was always there to love and protect him. Joey will be greatly missed by us all.
