Funeral Services for Mr. Frank Delano Brooks, 67, of Lone Grove are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday Nov. 6, 2009, at the Alexander Funeral Chapel in Wilson with Rev. David Gardner and Rev. Frank Young officiating. Interment will follow at the Lone Grove West Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.
Frank was born Feb. 27, 1942, at Santa Fe, NM, to the late Mr. Walter Melvin and Mrs. Ruby Virginia (Gardner) Brooks. He departed this life Tuesday Nov. 3, 2009, at Oklahoma City.
Frank attended school at several places graduating from El Segundo High School in California. He initially was employed with General Dynamics for two years and then became employed with Farr Co. for 10 years. He and the former Ms. Patsy Miller were united in marriage June 16, 1961, in Gardena, Calif.
Frank and Patsy moved back to Oklahoma making their home here. Frank was employed with Uniroyal/ Michelin for 28 years retiring from there in 1999. He always enjoyed watching football. especially OU and the Dallas Cowboys, and he also enjoyed playing with his dog, gardening and fishing. Frank was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Ardmore.
Preceding him in death is his Parents, son Billy D, Brooks, 1988, and a brother Doug Brooks.
Survivors include his loving wife Patsy of the home; two daughters, Tammy Stewart and husband Danny of Lone Grove, and Lisa Whitener and husband Billy of Ratliff City; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Ward of Lubbock, Texas, Mickie Adams of Wilson, and Doris Cutberth and husband Ken of Ardmore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Tom Harrald, Lonnie Smith, Bobby Davis, Floyd Gentry, Red Thetford and Kelly Smith.
Honorary bearers will be grandsons Joe Blackwell, Terry Blackwell, Stephen Blackwell and nephew, Dennis Baker.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Wilson.
