Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Frances “Nana” Hill, 88, of Ringling and formerly of Enid, are scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at the Ringling United Methodist Church with Rev. Alex Costea officiating. Interment rites will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in Enid, Okla. Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling is in charge of arrangements.


Frances, also known to many as “Nana”, was born April 16, 1920, at Memphis, Tenn., to the late Mr. James Eugene and Kathryn Melinda (Johnson) Moore. She went to be with her Lord, Wednesday evening, Jan. 28, 2009, at Ardmore, Okla.


Frances was raised mainly in Oklahoma City but also lived in Enid. She graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City before attending Business College in Oklahoma City, where she studied everything they offered. She and Mr. Neville Wilson “Bill” Hill were united in marriage Aug. 27, 1943, in Oklahoma City. They made their home in Enid, living there most of their life together, except for a few years in Arizona. She was employed for 26 years as a Church Secretary. After Bill preceded her in death on July 22, 1987, she made her home in Ringling. At Ringling she was a very active member of the United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed attending very much. She also enjoyed crocheting, spending time with her grandchildren, attending sporting events, poetry and was often known to express her thoughts, opinions, and appreciation through personal letters, with her excellent penmanship, that have been and will be cherished by many.


Survivors include her daughter, Judy Scott and husband Jayme of Ringling; two sons, Jerry Hill and wife Judy of Ringling and Jimmy Hill and wife Diane of Cleo Springs, Okla.; five grandchildren, Cynthia Nelson and husband Tony, Justin Hill and wife Lynette, James David (JD) Hill, Jay Don Scott and JoDe Stewart and husband Joe Don; great-grandchildren, Melissa, Melaney, Brittnay, Payton, Brandon, Maegan, Jordan, Jessica, Devin, Colten, Austin, Yvette, Tiffany and two others on the way; great-great-grandchildren, Mariah, Zoey and Ireland; sisters-in-law, Patsy Cox, Alma Lou Hill, Wynema Kirkland, Jewel Hill Hastings, and many nieces and nephews, church family and wonderful friends.


Pallbearers will be Mike Moore, Tom Hildebrandt, Grey Shivers, Jimmy Grace, Jay Grace, Allen Wade, Bill Stroud and Harry Goodman.


Honorary bearers will be Don Howard, Mike Turner, Keith Albin, Barry Benson, Mike Brooks, Harold Jackson and Joe McCleskey.


Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral in Ringling.


In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
