First Baptist Church of Dickson has recently begun a children’s bible verse award program.
Children can earn a series of awards for memorizing selected Bible verses. Younger children are eligible to earn a Sunday school award. Sunday school award winners are Shelby Beard and Makayla Kipps.
Older children have the opportunity to obtain four progressive advanced awards including: a medal for learning John 3:16; engraved wood cross for learning Romans 3:23 and Romans 5:8; a trophy for learning Romans 6:23; and a plaque for learning Romans 10:13 and Ephesians 2:8.
Current winners in the advanced awards series include:
• Medals — Jessica Johnson, Daryl Johnson, Elizabeth Kipps, Rusty Beard, Landri McClure, Echo Duke, Rachel Page, Makinsie Crook and Morgan Crook;
• Crosses — Elizabeth Kipps, Rusty Beard and Rachel Page;
• Trophies — Rusty Beard.
Program organizers said participants are continuing to work toward earning the programs highest honor, the plaque.
All awards are presented by Brother John Hatfield.
