The members of Greater Love Victory Temple will commemorate the church’s history in special “Founder’s Day” celebration services Sunday.
The theme of the celebration is “Look What the Lord Has Done,” according to Elder Lee F. White, the current pastor of the church.
Celebratory events include an 11 a.m. service when Elder Patrick Lewis, associated with Victory Temple World Ministries, Oklahoma City, will be the featured speaker.
The Rev. Jackie Brooks, pastor of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Lawton, is the keynote speaker at the 3:30 p.m. service. Brooks was an assistant during Elder N.H. James’ administration as pastor of Greater Love Victory Temple and was instrumental in giving the church its’ name.
Originally located on F Street Southeast, the church was organized in 1923 by Bishop Hearne. The current church is located at 536 E. Main St. and is listed in the U.S. Registry of Historic places.
The public in invited to attend the celebrations.
