4 churches sponsor Day of Prayer events today

Four area churches will sponsor National Day of Prayer activities today.
In Ardmore, Christ Community Church, 920 Locust St., will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. for those wishing to participate in the countrywide call for pray for the country.
Ardmore Christian Center will sponsor a “corporate” prayer session from noon to 1 p.m. in Central Park. In case of rain, the noontime prayer session will move to the church, located at 1501 9th Ave. NW.
Lone Grove Assembly of God, 15657 U.S. Highway 70, will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for those who would like to be part of the intercessory prayer for the nation.
New Beginnings Church in Madill jump started the observance with a special prayer service Wednesday night. Today the congregation will also recognize National Day of Prayer with day and night prayer services. Church officials said more than 40,000 prayer events are planned across the country in an effort to intercede for the nation and inspire a lifestyle of prayer for participants.
