First Baptist
The Mother’s Day offering at First Baptist Church, 225 1st Ave. SW, has been designated for the Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children and Baptist Village Retirement Communities of Oklahoma.


The offering will be divided equally between the two state ministries.


Mother’s Day is also Baby Dedication Sunday. Children to be presented at the 8:30 a.m. service include Nathan Bramlett, Hannah Roberts, Kamryn Davison, Lane Thomas Taliaferro, Rachel Alexandra Smith and Rebecca Roberts. Children slated to be presented at the 11 a.m. service include Claire Isabella Bloom, Kaci Preston Kyle, Kaden Coffman, Klayton Wayne Kyle, Whitlie Glenn Tennison, Hazel Shyann Hamilton, Maggie Suzanne Lokey and Rebecca Tschoepe.


Other activities at First Baptist include:


* Deacon sponsored Widow’s Banquet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Fellowship Hall. Reservation deadline is today.


* Woman on Mission — 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Mission Annex. The program is entitled: “The Church Without Walls, Yellowstone National Park.”


* Ladies Precept Bible Study — new session starts Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. in the Adult Annex Room 2 G. The study will focus on the Book of Romans.


* Church Family Fellowship Meal — 5-6 p.m. Wednesday in the Fellowship Hall. Adult menus includes  chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, bread and dessert. The  children’s men includes hot dog, chips and cookies. Reservation deadline 10 a.m. Wednesday.


* High school seniors will be recognized during the 11 am. service in the church auditorium May 18. 

First United Methodist


Mothers and graduates will be honored during worship services Sunday at First United Methodist Church. The church features a worship service at 8:30 a.m. in McClure Chapel and a similar service at 10:55 a.m. in the sanctuary. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m.

St. Mary

Two English Masses and one Spanish Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary, Our Lady of the Rosary, this weekend.

An English Mass is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Saturday, followed by the Spanish Mass at 7:30 p.m. Mass will again be celebrated at 10:45 a.m. Sunday.
Sunday is designated as Game Night for the Youth Group. The event is from 6-8 p.m.

The Youth Group is also accepting donations for their June 14 benefit garage sale. Contributed items can be brought to the church and placed in or near the basement, where items will be stored until the sale.

A collection for the Priest’s Medical Fund is set for May 17-18. The funds are reserved for priests in the Archdiocese in need of financial assistance with uninsured medical expenses.

Ultreya will be 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 18 in the Catholic Center. All Cursillistas are invited to attend. Contact Cathy Biddick at (580) 223-6016 for more information.

The parish will recognize seniors May 18 during the 10:45 a.m. Mass. All seniors are asked to wear their cap and gown. A brunch for the graduates and their immediate families will follow Mass in the parish hall. Congratulations are extended to Michael Mannes for his acceptance to Norte Dame and Laurie Schumacher, graduating from OU Health Sciences Center with a degree of Master of Physical Therapy with outstanding distinction.

Persons interested in joining the choir and choir members will practice from 7-9 p.m. May 20 for Most Holy body and Blood of Christ.  The choir is also seeking someone interested in playing the organ or piano one or two Saturdays per month. Those interested should contact Jo Ann Simon at (580) 465-1845.

There will be a special at 9 a.m. Mass May 26 at the church to remember loved ones on Memorial Day.

Registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and ultrsoudographers are needed as volunteers at Birth Choice. Interested volunteers should call Pat at (405) 330-2111.
