The Singing Pierots will perform in concert at 11 a.m. Sunday in Maranatha Free Will Baptist Church.
Billed as bringing “gospel music with a message,” Bill and Helen Pierot, Durant, have performed as a husband and wife team for decades, traveling throughout the U.S. to minister in song.
Having been cured of cancer in 1969 through what he believes was a miracle, Pierot, said, “God gave Helen and me a talent to sing. If we can help inspire others with that talent, we are doing His work. That’s what makes us both the happiest people in the world.”
“The couple, who appeared on The Grand Ole Opry” in 1973, said they answer God’s call by singing in churches and performing in area nursing homes where they take hymn requests. They have a collection of recordings that spans more than 30 years.
Pastor Leroy Holman and the congregation welcomes the public to the concert.
The church is located at 1906 Myall Road.
