First Baptist


First Baptist Church’s Downtown Mission is in need of blankets and men’s and women’s winter coats. The Mission is open to receive items from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Mondays.


Worship and learning opportunities at FBC Sunday include:
• 8:30 a.m. — Worship Service (Sanctuary)
• 9:30 a.m. — Sunday School for all ages. The deadline for returning the 2010 Committee Survey is Sunday.
• 11 a.m.— Worship Service (Sanctuary)
• 6 p.m. — Worship Service (Sanctuary)

FBC will sponsor the annual Harvest Party from 5-7 p.m. Friday. Scary costumes are not allowed.
The church provides candy for each booth to give as prizes. Candy donations are being accepted and should be placed in the boxes at the Adult Annex and C Street entrances. Donations of homemade pies are also being accepted.

Sunday worship at First United Methodist Church includes four options starting with McClure Chapel worship at 8:30 a.m., Power Up Children’s Church at 10:45 a.m., sanctuary worship at 10:50 a.m. and EPIC at 11:05 a.m. in the Colvert Ministry Center. Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:45 a.m.

Trinity Baptist


Trinity Baptist Church’s Royal Ambassadors will participate in the 39th annual Enon Associational Royal Ambassador Camp-a-rama Saturday in the Hickory Creek Public Area, located southeast of Lake Murray. Boys in grades 1 through 6 will compete in rifle fire and archery. Activities begin at 9 a.m.


On Sunday TBC offers Sunday School classes for all ages and every member of the family at 9:30 a.m. In addition a nursery for babies and Extended Care for pre-schoolers is available.


Pastor Terry Tolbert will continue his series of messages on the “Security of the Believer” from the Book of Romans during worship services beginning at 10:50 a.m.


October is Staff Appreciation Month at TBC. Each Sunday School class is planning a project/activity for members of the church staff. A Staff Appreciation Finger Food Fellowship will be held in Fellowship Hall beginning at 5 PM. Members are asked to bring their favorite finger food.


Church Training begins at 6 p.m. and includes:
• Music Makers for pre-schoolers
• RAs and GAs for children grades 1 through 5
• Youth Bible study and activities
• Adult study of the Book of Hebrews led by the pastor. 
• African language class led by Mary Cavner


Evening worship starts at 7 p.m. The Naco, Mexico Medical Mission team will share information about their trip during services. Dr Daniel Woods and Associate Pastor Jimmy May led a the 12-member team which provided eye care for hundreds.

• Women of Faith conference in Oklahoma City at the Ford Center is Friday and Saturday.  The theme of this year’s event is “A Grand New Day.” There is still time for women to sign up to go.  See Hollye Woods.
• The Annual Fall Festival will begin at 6 p.m. Dayna Stephens is asking for volunteers to help with games and activities.


The FAITH RIDERS motorcycle Sunday School class is available to help senior members with needed repairs around the house. Fill out a form located on the bulletin board in the hall way.


Trinity Baptist is located at 320 N. Washington Street. Terry Tolbert is pastor, Jimmy May is associate pastor and missions, and Gary & Jay Lynn Word are music leaders. Van service is available on Sundays and Wednesdays by calling (580) 223-9553.

St. Philip’s Episcopal


The Rev. Charles H. Brown will celebrate Holy Eucharist twice Sunday at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church.


Brown, longtime Ardmore resident and retired Episcopal cleryman, will conduct Rite I at 8 a.m. an Rite II at 10:30 a.m. Mass Scriptures include: Job 42:1-6, 10-17, Psalm 34:1-8, Hebrews 7:23-28 and Mark 10:46-52.


Children’s Church will also be conducted at 10:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall.


Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m.


Following the 10:30 a.m. services, Fellowship Hour will be in the Parish Hall. A nursery is available for all Sunday morning activities at the church.


Sunday afternoon a pumpkin carving party will be 2-4 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Pumpkin carvers of all ages are invited and welcome to bring a friend. This is a BYOP (Bring Your Own Pumpkin) event, but carving utensils and snacks will be provided. 


St. Philip’s is again sponsoring a drive to collect stuffed animals for children. Contributions can be new or “slightly used.” A crib for donations is set up in the Parish Hall. The drive benefits Court Appointed Special Advocates.

Seventh-day Adventist


Sabbath school at Ardmore’s Seventh-day Adventist Church begins at 9:15 a.m. Saturday followed by a sermon at 11 a.m.


Worship and study opportunities throughout the week include:
