Madill, OK —

MADILL — New Beginnings Church is taking Thursday’s National Day of Prayer a step further by joining with millions of Christians worldwide in 10 days of constant prayer.
The 10 days culminate on Pentecost Sunday, May 11, and follows the pattern of Christ’s followers before the first Pentecost.
“Praying for others and the power of prayer are constantly mentioned in the Bible,” Don Williams, pastor, said. “We hope these events will draw people across Marshall County to be diligent in praying for our government, our schools, our soldiers and for needy people. We can make a difference.”
The church will also conduct a special Pentecost service May 11. Pre-service prayer will be at 9 a.m. with worship beginning at 10 a.m. Weather permitting there will be a special outdoor prayer service at the church’s cross.
In addition high school graduates and mothers will be honored the same day.
New Beginnings has also designated May as Missions Month. The special focus will center on missionaries in foreign lands. At 7 p.m. May 7, Mike and Lorrie Reed, currently missionaries in Africa, will speak about their work. Williams said the public is invited to attended.
The church is located, at 518 S. First Avenue, at the intersection of State Highway 199 and U.S. Highway 70 South.
