The 14th hole at the WinStar Golf Course was no match for Payton Ellis on Saturday.

Ellis, a sophomore at Plainview High School, used a 7-iron to sink her first ever hole in one on the WinStar’s 116-yard Par 3. Ellis, 15, has been playing golf since the seventh grade and was a member of the Indians varsity team as a freshman.

“I thought it was going to be a really bad shot until I heard it hit the flag pole,” said Ellis. “I just started screaming and giving all my dad’s friends high fives.”

Ellis is the daughter of Bobbie and Kevin Ellis of Ardmore. The shot was witnessed by Dink Reed, Brodie Reed and Jamie Reed of Ardmore.
