Former Ardmore High School standout Domanique Godwin made a putback with 2 seconds left to give Murray State a 58-57 victory over Cedar Valley (Texas) on Monday.

It’s not the first time Godwin came through in the clutch this season. The swingman hit a 3-pointer with 1.7 seconds left in a 79-76 home win over Western Oklahoma State on Nov. 19.

The Aggies (8-8) completed a season sweep of the Suns, whose nine-game winning streak came to an end. Murray State won the first meeting 78-66 in Lancaster, Texas.

The Suns missed two free throws with 11 seconds left. James Harris brought the ball down the court, and Murray State worked it to June Carter for a 3-point shot. Godwin rebounded the missed 3 and put it back in.

Cedar Valley missed a desperation shot from half-court. The Suns led by four most of the second half.

Godwin finished with only eight points, but Carter led MSC with 18 points. Harris added 11.
MSC won’t play again until Jan. 11 at home against Seminole State.
