Four Murray State players scored in double figures and the Aggies got to the line 33 times to rout Brookhaven (Texas) 90-65 Tuesday night.
The Aggies (4-4) won for the second night in a row, with 18-point efforts from Ardmore alumni Craig Murray and Domanique Godwin. The duo was joined in double figures by Laron Buggs (18 points) and BayShon Payne (10).
Murray State led 37-24 at halftime.
The Aggies did much of their damage from the free-throw line and from distance. Murray, Godwin and Payne each hit two 3-pointers, as the Aggies made nine as a team. From the line, MSC shot 27-for-33 to overwhelm Brookhaven, which only made 47-percent (9-of-19) from the stripe.
James Harris and June Carter scored nine and eight points, respectively.
Chris Smith led Brookhaven with 15 points, one of only two Bears in double digits.
Murray State will open Oklahoma Community College Athletic Conference play at home Thursday against Western Oklahoma State.
