Several local high school athletes and a local high school trainer received good news within the last week — they made the All-State.
Ardmore Tiger golfers Britton Ritter and Ryan Smith will be on the West boys team.
Plainview’s duo of Emily Leahey and Jenna Ross will be on the West girls squad.
Ardmore tennis players Tim Argo and Jordan Adams made the All-State West team.
Ardmore High School student trainer Kaitlin Polk will be one of the West team trainers for the All-State Games.
The 2008 All-State Games will take place July 28-Aug. 1 in the Oklahoma City area.
Ritter and Smith were part of the Tigers’ state title team at last week’s Class 5A state tournament at Dornick Hills Country Club.
As individuals, Smith was state runner-up, while Ritter was third.
At the Class 3A state tourament April 30-May 1 at Cimarron Trails Golf Course in Perkins, Leahey won the individual state title, while Ross was fourth for the state runner-up Lady Indians.
Argo and Adams were parts of the Tigers’ and Lady Tigers’ teams which sent all entries to the Class 4A state tournament earlier this month.
Argo did not place at No. 1 singles at last weekend’s state tournament, and was state champion at No. 1 doubles with Luke Jordan in 2007.
Adams, and partner Caitlin Barringer, was sixth at the Class 4A state tournament May 3.
Polk was one of five student trainers for the Tigers football team in 2007.
