Plainview baseball players honored at annual banquet

The 2008 Plainview Indians Baseball Banquet was Wednesday night at Plainview Middle School with several players being honored.


Luke Gragg was awarded the Pitcher of the Year Award, while Dylan Morales and Jacob Brecht were named Co-Offensive Players of the Year.


Justin Ellis was the 2008 Most Improved Player of the Year, while Blake Smith and Wes Davis were give the Young Indian Awards.


Cody Barrett was named the Clutch Hitter of the Year, while the Gold Glove Award was presented to Aaron Chandler.


Chandler Ray, Eric Hedrick and Matt Bruster were given the Indian Pride Awards.
Gragg, Barrett and Brecht were also recognized for being on the 2008 All-Lake Country Conference Team.


The Indians were 22-11, a Class 3A district tournament champion, runners-up in the Purcell Tournament, third-place finishers in the LCC Tournament and consolation champions of the Bethel Tournament.
