In a ceremony performed by Jack Scott, Sandra Gale Smithers Babcock exchanged wedding vows with Larry Paul Chambers on May 23, 2009, at the groom’s home in Lone Grove, which was decorated with ivory roses and green ivy.
Parents of the couple are the late Lorene Stephens West, the late Jim Smithers, the late Wynona Franklin Chambers and the late Lawrence “L.F.” Chambers. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ed Smithers, Buster Stephens, Viola Trumbley Lee, Lawrence Herman, Agnes Eaton Chambers and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Franklin.
The bride wore a formal gown of ivory chiffon, designed with a shirred empire bodice, hand-beaded waistband and double spaghetti straps.
Honor attendants were Erica Reid, daughter of the groom, Oklahoma City; Steve Chambers, brother of the groom, Wewoka; and the bride’s sons, Shane and Deric Babcock.
Other members of the wedding party were Olivia Reid, granddaughter of the groom; and Lane Babcock, grandson of the bride.
The couple took a trip to Parmers Resort in Little Torch Key, Fla. They live in Lone Grove.
