Ardmore
The high school band will perform at the Veteran’s Center during the Veteran’s Day Celebration.
At the middle school, portions of the Declaration of Independence will be recited each morning throughout the week.
In addition to various activities throughout the week, Charles Evans Elementary students will be putting together a care package to send to Derrick Perryman, the brother of a teacher who is fighting in Iraq.
Each morning at Jefferson Elementary at 8:15, there will be a short assembly in the cafeteria noting the symbols of our country. Students will also be sending thank you notes, pictures and letters to troops currently serving.
Plainview
Staff Sgt. Oscar Interiano will speak to the elementary students at 2 p.m. today.
At the middle school, Rep. Pat Ownbey will speak at 10 a.m. today and former state Rep. Greg Piatt will speak at 9 a.m. Thursday. Family members who have served are speaking to the social studies classes throughout the week.

The district will host their annual celebration at 9 a.m. today. Chuck Ramsay, retired Navy veteran from Pine Valley, will be the speaker.
Davis
The middle school and high school had a speaker on Tuesday. The band and choir also performed patriotic music.

The district watched a movie together to learn about veterans.
Kingston
The middle school and high school had a joint program Tuesday.
Elementary students are participating in an art project with BancFirst.
Madill
Madill High School alumnus and West Point graduate Steve Courreges will speak at an assembly at 9 a.m. today.
Middle school students performed a play entitled “We Will Remember: A Tribute to Our Veterans” on Tuesday.

Video segments will be shown in social studies classes at the high school. Students have also made things to recognize veterans in their community.
Ringling
High school students created a Wall of Peace that was given to the Veterans Center. Students wrote responses to questions such as “how do we show respect for our country” and put the answers together on construction paper bricks.
Sulphur
Students will be attending the Veterans Day parade organized by Sulphur veterans.
Turner
Juniors in the American history class have organized a program for both the high school and middle school for 11 a.m. today featuring Army National Guard Sgt. 1st Class Larry Bohannan as the speaker.
Elementary students had a patriotic theme for their Rise and Shine ceremony on Monday. Led by the first-graders, students sang patriotic songs and recited poems. Fifth-graders recited the preamble to the Constitution.
Wilson
Students will participate in various Veterans Day activities in their social studies classes. Activities include learning about American wars, the flag and the Constitution.
