Ardmore housing study
It only takes a short drive around Ardmore and our neighboring communities to know that our area is growing. New buildings are going up and existing buildings are being renovated. Current employers are adding new jobs to their ranks and new companies are hiring employees who will call greater Ardmore “home.” As we’ve met with these new and expanding companies, the issue of housing has been consistently identified as one of the most important issues impacting their hiring plans.
Operation Pride scheduled for Monday
Operation Pride will be in Section 4 Northwest on February 28, 2022. Northwest Section 4 is bordered on the north by the south side of 12th Avenue NW and the north side of West Broadway. The City limits borders the section on the west to the west side of North Washington.
Plainview’s Johnson, Gilliam on to title matches
A pair of Plainview High School wrestlers advanced to championship matches on Saturday during the Class 4A State Tournament at State Fair Arena in Oklahoma City. Indians senior Lane Johnson showed his flair for the dramatic as he tallied a takedown with five seconds remaining for a 3-2 victory over Blackwell’s Kolby Looper in the semifinals of the 220-pound bracket.
Senators blast Putin while Hern blames President
Members of Oklahoma’s congressional delegation on Thursday condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and called for stiff punishments, while Tulsa Republican Rep. Kevin Hern blamed President Joe Biden.
Oklahoma AG: No probe into school library books
Only days after telling media he would review 54 books for obscenity, Oklahoma Attorney General John O’Connor said Thursday he is not investigating public-school library books. O’Connor said he received complaints from parents who claimed to find obscene content in books from their children’s school libraries.
