My time at Teacher Technology Days

Last week, the Southern Oklahoma Technology Center (SOTC) hosted twenty local high school teachers for what they called Teacher Technology Days. It was an incredible opportunity for teachers to learn from the instructors about some new and older programs that were being offered through the technical college including the following: Medical Office Administration, Construction, Industrial Machinery, CAD, Heavy Equipment Operations, Auto Collision, Diesel Mechanics, Biotechnology, Math, Cybersecurity, PN Select, Cosmetology, Esthetics, Nursing Assisting, Medical Assisting, Biotechnology, Welding, HVAC, Robotics, Media Animation, Graphic Design, and Horticulture.

Judith A. Woulfe Ford (Judy)

Judy was born the second child of seven to Aileen and “Fats” Calvin Woulfe on May 23rd 1940, in Fox, Oklahoma. She departed this life on May 24th, 2022, following a prolonged battle with Alzheimer’s. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren.

More juvenile justice and mental health needed

The specter of a school shooting always lurks in the back of parents’ and educators’ minds, but this week, it openly torments us. Adequate prayers cannot be uttered at a time like this, but we pray, nonetheless. In the days and weeks ahead, we will learn more details, but we will also lose focus and interest as well. Before that happens, we must seize our current state of crystal clarity and chart a different course regarding school safety, juvenile justice, and juvenile mental health.

Kevin Spacey to face 4 sex assault By JILL LAWLESS Associated Press charges in Britain

LONDON (AP) — British prosecutors say they have authorized police to charge actor Kevin Spacey with four counts of sexual assault against three men. Thursday’s announcement came as the actor was in court in New York testifying in a different case. The Crown Prosecution Service says it “authorized criminal charges” on the four sex assault counts and one of “causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent.” The alleged incidents took place in London between March 2005 and August 2008, and one in western England in April 2013. The alleged victims are now in their 30s and 40s.

OKC Zoo’s critically endangered Sumatran tiger is pregnant

The Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden is proud to announce that its female Sumatran tiger, Lola, 10, is pregnant and due to give birth this summer. The OKC Zoo participates in the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Species Survival Plan® (SSP) for Sumatran tigers which made the recommendation for Lola to breed with mate, Kami, 14. The Zoo is committed to helping protect Sumatran tigers and sustain their population through its participation in the AZA’s SSP for this critically endangered species. This is Lola’s second pregnancy with Kami. The pair welcomed male triplets in July 2017.
