Oklahoma families utilizing new online student transfer portal

OKLAHOMA CITY – Thousands of Oklahoma families have taken advantage of a new online portal for student transfers that became available in January 2022 with the enactment of SB 783. The Oklahoma Legislature made comprehensive reforms to Oklahoma’s school transfer laws in 2021, including revising the requirements for accepting and denying student transfers, and requiring school districts to set and list enrollment capacities on their websites.

Mullin, Kim introduce bipartisan legislation to increase support for emergency medical services

WASHINGTON — Congressman Markwayne Mullin (OK-02) and Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03), along with Reps. Cindy Axne (IA-03), Mike Carey (OH15), Al Lawson (FL-05), Bruce Westerman (AR-04), and Marc Veasey (TX-33) recently introduced the Supporting Our First Responders Act. This bill creates a new grant program under the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) which would help emergency medical services (EMS) agencies with hiring and retention of qualified staff, training reimbursements, facility upgrades, and more.
