Artists-in-residence program creates the largest puzzle in Oklahoma and a holiday gift with purpose

OKLAHOMA CITY — Local professional artists Denise Duong and Gabriel Friedman and art therapist Brittany Dray have been working with Oklahoma Children’s Hospital OU Health patients for the past several months, helping them develop skills to reduce and manage anxiety and fear and to develop self-expression through art.

Ardmore Elks to feed over 2,000 in need with annual turkey drive

The scent of smoked turkey filled the air around the Ardmore Elks Lodge as the Elks cooked up 275 turkeys during their Sixth Annual Turkey Drive. The turkeys, along with all the fixings for a fantastic meal, will be distributed to local families in need, the Veterans Center, and local shelters. Each completed meal will feed between six to eight people Ardmore Elk Clay Allison said the cooking began at 6 a.m. on Monday morning and lasted well into the afternoon.

The book has recipes for sours, Manhattans, and bittered slings interspersed with some history of New Orleans, its drinking culture and the men and women at Cure who created the drinks.
