A loud boom rattled residents of Northwest Ardmore on Wednesday night as two propane tanks exploded during a housefire on Birch Street. Ardmore Fire Department spokesperson Jason Woydziak said the propane tanks were located in the garage where the fire started. The fire then spread to the house.

An Ardmore holiday tradition opens up for another season this Saturday evening at Regional Park. The Festival of Lights will return with over 150 light displays spread across a 1.5 mile drive. Ardmore Parks and Recreation Director Teresa Ervin said this year’s Festival will include three new displays. The first is called “snowman maker” and depicts a machine scooping up snow and snowmen tumbling out. The second is called “swing penguins” and depicts a group of penguins swinging off the north pole before tumbling into the water.
