Money spent local stays local

It is the last weekend of November, and we all know what that means- the holiday season has officially begun! While some you rose early on Thursday morning for Turkey Trots, I know many of you have spent the last two days doing marathon shopping, while others are preparing for tomorrow’s Cyber Monday sales. I spent the early years of my professional life on a retail sales floor, so this weekend and the holiday season hold more memories for me than I can share. However, since becoming an economic developer I tend to look at “retail” a bit differently and all year long.

What to know about this animal: Carter is an approximately 6 month-old, male Hound mix. He is timid upon initial greeting, but so very sweet! Carter gets along great with other dogs and children.

Parade of Lights returns next week

With Thanksgiving now behind us, the countdown to Christmas can truly begin. One of the major signs of the season in Ardmore is the annual Parade of Lights which will be returning to the Depot District on Tuesday, Nov. 29. The nighttime parade will kick off from Central Park after the tree lighting shortly after 6 p.m. and go down Main Street to Depot Park.
