With another season in the books, it’s time to honor the high school football athletes who showcased their skills on the gridiron.
The 2024 All-Ardmoreite football team highlights the hard work and dedication that started during the summer, continued throughout the regular season and helped propel Ardmore, Plainview, Ringling and Wilson to the playoffs.
So without further ado, the first-team offense features a pair of quarterbacks who shined all year – Ringling’s Kysen Fincher and Wilson’s Tyler Williamson.
Ardmore’s Kylen Haskins and Dickson’s DaJuan Williams are the running backs along with Healdton’s Roo Franklin after he excelled in the backfield and as a receiver.
Madill’s Uziel Flores is the lone wide receiver, while Wilson’s Cason Fulton is on the squad as a tight end.
The offensive linemen are Ardmore’s Adrian White, Plainview’s Keagan Williams, Madill’s Tobith Guevara, Wilson’s Wyatt Dubose and Healdton’s Triston Altstatt.
Switching to the other side of the ball, the defensive linemen are Ardmore’s Gavin Lewis, Dickson’s Zander Schreiber, Plainview’s Rye Blackwood and Wilson’s Landon Lambert.
The linebackers include Ringling’s Payton Waldie, Plainview’s Toby Stedman, Dickson’s Easton Peoples and Ardmore’s Javon Singleton.
Defensive backs are next with the Plainview duo of Shepherd Sisemore and Braden French along with Dickson’s Jaelon Douglass.
Plainview’s Hudson Hobbs and Taylor Bederka are the final honorees for special teams.
First-team offense
Fincher, the Most Valuable Player in District A-6, showed he could find success on the ground and through the air as he tallied 47 total touchdowns. The senior rushed for 2,083 yards and 37 scores and finished with 3,105 all-purpose yards.
Meanwhile, Williamson passed for 1,115 yards and 12 touchdowns, while adding 115 rushes for 987 yards and 11 scores to be named District A-6 Offensive Player of the Year.
Haskins, a first-team All-District 4A-2 honoree, carried the ball 170 times for 834 yards and nine touchdowns. Williams had 139 carries for 756 yards and seven scores. Franklin hauled in 23 catches for 549 yards and six touchdowns, while also rushing for 798 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Flores caught 42 receptions for 510 yards and three scores to earn first team All-District 4A-2 accolades. Fulton finished with 357 yards and five touchdowns on just five catches, while rushing for 182 yards and a score.
White and Guevara garnered first team All-District 4A-2 honors, while Williams was named to the All-District 3A-1 first team and Wyatt Dubose was a first team All-District A-6 selection.
First-team defense
The defensive line plays an important role for all squads and this group put up impressive numbers.
Schreiber notched 93 tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, while Blackwood finished with 51 tackles and three tackles for loss to earn first team All-District 3A-1 honors.
Lewis, a first team All-District 4A-2 selection, tallied 26 tackles, 39 assisted stops, two defensive touchdowns along with three fumble recoveries.
Lambert rounds out the group as the District A-6 Defensive Tackle of the Year.
Waldie led the pack of linebackers as the senior finished with 135 tackles, two sacks, one forced fumble to be named District A-6 Defensive Player of the Year.
Stedman was also a force with 127 tackles, three sacks, one interception, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery to make the first team All-District 3A-1 team.
Peoples notched 84 tackles, one sack and two forced fumbles, while Singleton tallied 70 tackles, 45 assisted stops, three sacks and three forced fumbles to garner first team All-District 4A-2 accolades.
Meanwhile, a trio of defensive backs round out the defense. Sisemore, the District 3A-1 Defensive MVP, finished with 65 tackles, three interceptions and three forced fumbles.
French tallied 76 tackles, two interceptions, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, a blocked field goal and six pancake blocks to be named District 3A-1 Defensive Back of the Year.
Douglass notched 37 tackles, five interceptions, two forced fumbles and one defensive touchdowns.
Special teams
Hobbs made an impact in multiple phases all season and was named District 3A-1 Special Teams MVP. The senior returned 11 kicks for 350 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 19 punt returns for 247 yards and one score. He also converted 12-of-13 on extra points when Bederka was out with an injury.
Bederka, the District 3A-1 Kicker of the Year, went 31-of-34 on extra points and connected on all three of his field goals – with one of those being the game-winner in a 15-13 victory over Kingfisher.
