Traditional celebration
Lone Grove Days will return to Sullivan Family Park May 2-3. Friday evening will feature Gospel singing, SCOL Ball League Kick Off and vender set-up. Festivities will kick off on Saturday with the pancake breakfast starting at 8 a.m. There will be music, bounce houses, a car show, corn hole tournament and the Little Miss and Mister Lone Grove announcement. Lone Grove Days is hosted by the Lone Grove Kiwanis Club.
Celebrating our planet
The Ardmore Earth 1st Expo will return to Thompson Square from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., May 3. There will be grand prizes, environmental education materials, crafts for kids, giveaways and a plant swap and gardening information. The Ardmore Lion’s Club will also be accepting donations of used eyeglasses to be provided to those in need. The Ardmore Beautification Council hosts the event, which is free to the public. Thompson Square is located at 2015 West Broadway.
Have a seat
The Sara’s Project Chair-ity Nite fundraiser will be at 6 p.m., May 3 at the Ardmore Convention Center. Tickets are $100 with proceeds going toward support of Sara’s Project. Raising funds in Springer
The Springer Volunteer Fire Department will host a BBQ Fundraiser at 6 p.m., May 3 at the Springer Community Center. The evening will feature live music and an auction. Bring a lawn chair and join in the fun.
Family Fun Night
The Carter County Republican Party will host a Family Fun Night from 5:30 to 8 p.m., May 16 at the American Nation Bank Operations Center. The cost is $5 for ages three and up. Admission includes one snack and one beverage while supplies last. There will be a Tuttle Twins Watch Party, family games and activities while having fun with American civics in a family friendly environment.
Support the Lions
The Ardmore Lions Club will host its Annual Poker Run from noon to 4 p.m., May 18 at Central Park. Hands cost $20 with $10 for each additional hand. High hand winner will receive $500 and low hand will receive $250. Entry includes hot dogs, chips and snacks when riders return to Central Park. To register, visit www.ardmorelionsclub.com.
Fried fish feast
One of the best traditions in Carter County returns as the Gene Autry Volunteer Fire Department hosts its fish fry fundraiser May 31. There will be a raffle for an elk hunt and a dessert auction. It will be from noon to 4 p.m. in the Gene Autry Community Center at 136 Tumbleweed Road. For additional information, call Paul Tucker at 580-220-9179.
Embrace art
Circle the calendar in June for the Ardmore Art Adventure. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., June 14 on Main Street. There will be live music, bounce houses, chalk art, bounce houses and a kid’s scavenger hunt. Sum it up and there is fun for the whole family. It is also free of charge.
