Stark Art Exhibit at The Goddard Center

ARDMORE – The Goddard Center invites you to come view the enigmatic, varied and talented work of artist Kevin Stark. This exhibition features over 124 works spanning more than 45 years of Mr. Stark’s explorations, including a hand painted installation designed specifically for The Goddard Center’s Galleries. The “Stark Art” Exhibit will open to the public on Tuesday, July 8, and run through Saturday, August 23. Goddard Center Exhibits are always free and open to the public. An Exhibit Reception extravaganza with Kevin Stark will be on Friday, July 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. The first 50 guests will receive a signed print from the Artist! And at 8pm Mr. Stark’s band, Squeaky Burger, will take the stage for a free concert.

Kevin Stark has found he likes to work in so many different styles and mediums that he has started channeling his artistic energies through different artist “characters” that he has created. By creating different personas, Stark is able to paint in styles that are completely different than what he’s known for.

In the guise of Pop Artist, Red Kittens, Stark paints minimalist paintings of a red kitty that have been hailed for their positive energy and inspiration. As the artist, Jett Black, he has become an abstract painter that creates monochromatic paintings in black and white of Oklahoma thunderstorms at night. So far, Stark has appeared in the guise of at least five other artists, besides himself. There’s no telling how many more may be lurking in the shadows, but it’s certain they will be fun.

The “Stark Art” Exhibit can be viewed during regular business hours Tuesday through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. And don’t miss the fun during his opening reception on July 11th.
