Elmbrook receives National Silver Achievement in Quality Award

Elmbrook Home was one of three facilities in the state to receive the prestigious National Silver Achievement in Quality Award for 2025 from the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living.

The award honors long-term and post-acute care providers nationwide for their dedication to performance improvement and excellence in care. Elmbrook is among the 209 facilities across 40 states to receive the recognition.

The award is part of a three-tiered system of bronze, silver and gold, with Elmbrook having received the bronze award in 2022. After achieving the bronze medal, homes can choose to go on to the silver by demonstrating a commitment to enhancing quality outcomes through a series of performance improvement systems.

Regional Director of Operations Amanda Stevenson said everyone is honored to receive the award.

“We’re honored to receive this recognition, and it reflects the heart and dedication our team puts into caring for our residents every day,” Stevenson said. “We’re proud to serve our community and grateful that families trust us with their loved ones.”

Administrator Matt Dymock agreed.

“As an administrator, I feel an overwhelming sense of pride that Elmbrook Home has been chosen for this exceptional award,” he said. “The recognition serves as a testament to the dedication of our entire team in providing the highest quality of care for our residents. Thank you for trusting us to care with your loved ones. We are proud to be serving Ardmore and the surrounding areas.”

Dymock said it took around 1,000 hours to compile all of the information required to apply for the silver award.

“We had to pick seven or eight areas, such a wound care for example, and discuss how we improved our system,” Dymock said. “We had to detail what we did to improvements by explaining it to them in a detailed report. Basically, it was about 30 pages worth of applications that included graphs with things like month over month comparisons, quarter over quarter comparisons and year over year comparisons.”

He pointed out that all of the charts and explanations in the world would not be enough to receive the award if they did not have the right system and teams in place.

“It’s really all about the leadership here, the staff her, the residents here, the families here,” he said. “It’s a group effort. You don’t win if you don’t have a solid facility. And having a solid facility comes from the leadership here. Our department heads aren’t just sitting in their office, they’re out there on the floor putting in the work and leading by example.”

Resident Roy Gaines has lived at Elmbrook for two years now. He said he enjoys the atmosphere.

“They have all sorts of stuff to do for us if you want to do it,” Gaines said. “You don’t have to participate if you don’t want to. They give us options.

“They’re good to us. The staff and everybody is good to us, and they all go out of their way to make us happy.”

Gaines said he particularly enjoys the food, the snacks and the games.

When asked if they planned on going for the gold, Dymock said they were still deciding.

“We actually have two years to decide if we want to do that,” he said. “Right now, we just want to celebrate getting the silver.”
