The renovation of the Carter County Courthouse will be celebrated in an unveiling ceremony.
The event will be at 2 p.m., Friday complete with guest speakers, tours of the courthouse and the sealing of a new time capsule to be opened in 2125.
Plans are also in place to showcase the contents of the 1911 time capsule that was opened last week while placing items in the new time capsule.
Music for the program will be provided by the Ardmore High School band. Commissioner Joe David McReynolds will offer a prayer and Dr. Matthew Pearce, a state historian, will give the history of the courthouse.
Commissioner Owen Longest will go over the contents that were placed in both the 1911 and current time capsule. The history of the cornerstone will be given by Masonic District Deputy Grand Master Jerry Armstrong.
Reflections on both the start of the courthouse renovation and ending of the renovation will be given by Sen. Jerry Alvord and Commissioner Berry Lee-Brinkman respectively.
The event will also feature the announcement of the Carter County Courthouse Art Contest finalists.
The courthouse is located at 20 B St. SW in Ardmore.
