Halloween haunts and fall festivals

The spookiest day of the year is here, and several local businesses, organizations and groups will be hosting activities and events for the entire family. To help you come up with your trick-or-treat game plan, here’s what will be happening around town on Halloween and All Saints’ Day.

Friday, Oct. 31

The Pizza Hut at 1606 N. Commerce will be hosting a costume contest and trick-or-treating from 2 to 8 p.m. Prizes will be given away for the funniest, scariest and most creative costumes.

Main Street will be a beehive of activity as ghosts, superheroes and princesses come together for Truck or Treat. The event, hosted by Ardmore Main Street Authority, will be from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Children can visit an assortment of trucks on Main Street while filling baskets with candy. There will also be a costume contest.

The Ardmore VFW Post will be hosting Trunk or Treat from 5 to 7 p.m. at their location at 529 S. Washington. Bring the kids, show off their costumes, and get some treats from veterans.

It’s Fall Fest time at H2O Life Church. The decorations are in place and fun activities and cady awaits from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The church is located at 4420 W. Broadway.

CrystalRock Cathedral will host a Trunk & Treat from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dress up in costume and fill the basket in a family friendly environment. CrystalRock Cathedral is located at 2005 12th Ave. NW in Ardmore.

The Elks will host its Annual Kids Halloween Carnival from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be free candy, games and a cake walk. The event is open to the public. The Ardmore Elks Lodge is located at 2526 South Commerce Street in Ardmore.

Saturday, Nov. 1

The fun kicks off again on Saturday with the Chickasaw District YYA hosting a Fall Festival starting at 5 p.m. The event includes truck or treat along with games, music, hayrides, bouncy houses, and much more. The festival will take place at Corinth Baptist Church located at 1022 N St. NE.

The Wilson All Sports Club will host a Fall Carnival dinner and auction. The dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria and will feature baked potatoes with pulled pork or chili along with a drink and dessert for $15 a plate. There will also be a pie, cake and basket auction. The carnival starts at 7 p.m. in the old gym and will feature games, prizes and a costume contest with categories from one day old up to high school.
