William Earl “Bill” George, Jr.

ARDMORE – Services for William Earl “Bill” George, Jr., will be Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ on Merrick Drive with Mr. Cougan Collins officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at West Memorial Lone Grove Cemetery.

A time of visitation and support for the family will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00 till 7:00 at the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home in Ardmore.

Bill was born October 25, 1945 in Ardmore to the late William Earl “Joe” George, Sr. and Lucille Mae Reed George, and passed away on March 13, 2022 here in Ardmore.

Bill graduated from Plainview High School, class of 1963, and attended Southern Oklahoma State University. During his studies, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served during Vietnam. After returning home, he finished his Bachelors in 1971 and later earned a Masters Degree in Education. He and the former Carolyn Beth Proctor were married August 27, 1965.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and riding his motorcycle. He is survived by his wife Beth, daughters, Karen McGehee and her hus

He is survived by his wife Beth, daughters, Karen McGehee and her husband John, Karla Houchin and husband Shannon; his son Kris George; sister, Donna Lee Gothard; grandchildren, Jonathan Houchin and wife Lauren; Paige Caldwell and husband Shannon; James Houchin and wife Rebecca and Kayla Beth Houchin; and two great grandchildren, Saige Caldwell and Remi Dawn Houchin. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Kenneth Wayne George, and his sister and brother-in-law Connie and Johnny Hartman.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gerald Neill, Kris George, Jonathan Houchin, James Houchin, Trevor Burge and Cody Proctor. Honorary bearers will be Jerry Goode, John Delano, Johnny Smith, Danny Godfrey, Ken Solley, Steve Taliaferro, Eddy Proctor, Mike McGowan, J. T. Hockersmith, Ted Clardy and James King.
