Nathan Ray Austin

WICHITA FALLS, TX – Nathan Ray Austin, Age 49, Wichita Falls, TX; formerly of Wood River, IL; entered into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior February 9, 2022 at Wichita Falls, Texas.

Nathan was born in the City of Alton, Madison County, Illinois; attending public schools in East Alton-Wood River, Illinois and Dickinson, Texas.

Nathan was a philosophy major at the University of North Texas, Denton, Texas. He was a skilled artist specializing in conceptual art. His most easily recognized work is available on the internet and is entitled “The PriceMaster”.

He was self-employed as an interior designer/remodel contractor where he utilized his exceptional artistic abilities to manifest custom building projects.

In his life he was able to travel and make his home in many different places, including, Galveston, Texas, Portland, Oregon and Bahia, Brazil; creating many friendships and relating many stories from his adventures in the Americas and Europe.

His hobbies were: music, being an accomplished guitar player also made him an instrument collector; wood working, including guitar luthier; Bicycling; camping/hiking, often with his best friend Bob Johnson.

Nathan loved his Lord Jesus; his family; friends; and his constant companion Pomeranian, Foxy. He was a friend of Bill.

Nathan is preceded in death by his grandparents: Virgil and Dorothy Austin; William and Catherine Cherry; Father, Steve Abel; Aunts and Uncles: Gary Austin, Diane (Austin) and Richard Gorton, Sharon Austin Hartline, Karen Austin San Soucie, Larry Kizer, Virginia and “Red” Cherry; Cousins: Jimmy Deutsch, Brady Thompson.

Surviving relatives: Companion, Foxy; Father, Thomas Austin and wife Jodie of Ardmore, OK; Mother, Colleen Cherry Austin Abel of League City, TX; Sister, Kristen Austin Baldy, her husband Bill and son Nicholas of League City, TX; Mother, Mary Austin of Bowie, TX; Sister, Rachel Austin and son Rowen Griffin of Ardmore, OK; Sister, Lauren Austin of Ada, OK; Brother, William Douglass, wife Haylee and son Bennett of Plano, TX; Sister, Elizabeth Griesman and husband Brian of Ada, OK; Uncle: Larry Austin and wife Nancy of Clermont, FL; Aunt: Jane Kizer of Wood River, IL. Numerous cousins and dear friends from many places around the world.

Memorial service will be at Victory Life Church, Ardmore, OK on March 26, 2022 at 11:00 am.
