Judy Colleen Rorick Rooms

Judy Colleen Rorick Rooms was born to Don and Nell (Cullison) Rorick on February 17, 1938 in Guthrie, Oklahoma and passed away in Edmond, Oklahoma on March 28, 2022. Judy was a beautiful and talented woman who loved people, traveling, and most of all social dancing. Judy was preceded in death by her parents Don and Nell, her siblings Peggy Gage and Dale Rorick. She is survived by her children Alan (Marcia) Rudd and Russell Rooms; Grandchildren Aaron (Jenny) Rudd, Telina Rudd, Chad Johnson, Alannah (Jaron) Jackson, Matthew Rooms, and Dylan Rooms; Sister-in-law Maggie Rorick; nephews Mark Greenway, Eric Gage, Robin Gage, Randy Rorick, and Shawn McCarty; nieces Teressa Pivniska, Donne Wilkens and Lisa Rorick; seven great grandchildren and numerous family and friends.

Judy graduated from Ardmore High School class of ’56 where she was a majorette for the high school band and rodeo queen. Judy loved horses and was a barrel racer on the professional rodeo circuit. She spent most of her career as an administrative secretary in the federal government until she retired in 2006 after spending the last part of her career in Anchorage Alaska and Seattle, Washington. Judy merely worked to support her addiction to traveling and dancing where she competed in many west coast swing dance competitions all over the country. Judy made friends wherever her travels took her. She loved music and passed that on to her children and grandchildren. She loved and supported her boys in their varied endeavors. She will be missed by her family and friends until we see her again.

There will be a celebration of Judy’s life on May 14, 2022 at 2:00pm at the Oklahoma City Swing Dance Club at 4361 NW 50th Street. Suite 400, Oklahoma City 73112. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
