January 27th, 1965 May 14th, 2022

Birthplace – Santa Ana, CA Oh Petey, he was a fast driving, wheely riding, rubber-burning, son, brother, uncle, husband, dad & papa. He passed on from this life on May 14th, 2022 from his race with cancer.

He loved his mom Yvonne “Muzzy” (deceased), his brothers Kenny, Mike, Jimmy & Bill (all deceased), Rusty Sweetland, and Randy Sweetland.

He married Heather Sweetland, almost 19 years ago. His children Natosha, Kenna, Jeremey, Niko, Taylor, Buddy & Jessie was his greatest accomplishment. He taught them to fish, to select a quality tool, life skills, and to just be thankful. He always had $6 to spare. He took great pride in stocking their toolboxes. One of his regrets was not buying more flashlights.

He took extreme pride in his grandchildren Dylan, Alle, Karley, Presley, Camdon, Alyssa, Ben, Dominic, Kenleigh, Andon, Elli, Brayden, Dawson, Addy, Izzy, Nova, Chase, Emerson & Harper as well as his great-grandchildren Avery & Cash.

Everything was always a race to Pete. He had a competitive bone that did not like to lose. (Even if it meant making his grandbabies cry) He had a passion for racing, hot rods, Harley, HAM radio, flashlight, and the color purple. As a lifelong mechanic, Pete was thoroughly interested in being able to fix anything life threw at him.

His family will hold a Celebration of Life at Dickson Community Center, 35 Eastgate Loop Ardmore OK on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at 1 p.m. Followed by a graveside goodbye at Lone Cedar Cemetery in Mannsville OK. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a
