The son of the late Tom Stephenson and Rosie Lee (McGee) Favors, Jerry was born on December 25, 1948 in Ardmore, Oklahoma and passed away on November 19, 2022 at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years 10 months and 24 days. A life-long Ardmore resident, Jerry graduated from Douglass High School and then attended Murray State College. Jerry served his country in the United States Air Force receiving an Honorable Discharge. He had worked as a tire builder with Michelin. In his leisure time Jerry enjoyed fishing, watching the Oklahoma City Thunder, OU Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys. Jerry was a member of Calvary United Pentecostal Church which is now The Sanctuary for 43 years. The leaves to cherish his memories: 3 daughters and son-in-law; Tammie Stephenson (Plano, TX), Charlene Stephenson (Carrollton, TX), and Jerrisha and Jerrod Williams (McKinney, TX); a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Amara Stephenson (Ardmore); 6 grandchildren; Jaedyn Stephenson, Keaton Stephenson, Ashton Stephenson, Braelyn Stephenson, Kenedi Williams, and Camdyn Stephenson; 2 sisters, Ira Zonell Roberts and Wanda Lynn Stevenson. He was preceded in death by: his father, Thomas Stephenson; mother, Rosie Lee Favors; sister, Dorothy Knight; brothers, Emery Stephenson, Thomas Stephenson and Charles Stephenson. “A special thank you to Amara Stephenson and Zella Johnson for the love and support shown to our father during this difficult time.” Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at the Sanctuary with Pastor Allen Dorries officiating. Interment will follow at the Jehovah Cemetery, Milo, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be: Jeffrey Stephenson, Jerrod Williams, Keaton Stephenson, Shayne Dorries, Joel Boyer and Roy Roberts. Honorary bearers will be: Ashton Stephenson and Melvin Posey.
