The Ardmore Police Department has identified the Ardmore High School teacher that is currently the subject of a criminal investigation.
Sgt. Matt Dunn said the department received information regarding improper conduct between Christopher “CJ” Kennedy and a juvenile student at Ardmore High School. The initial accusation is believed to have occurred at the time Kennedy was employed as an athletic coach at Ardmore High School.
Investigators are looking into other possible improper conduct that may have occurred more recently. Dunn said the initial complaint received was from an individual who is not a current student.
“At this time, there have been no arrests in this case, but we are working diligently toward investigating all credible information,” Dunn said. “If anyone has information, you are encouraged to contact the Ardmore Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 580-223-1212.”
Kennedy was placed on leave by Ardmore City Schools Monday. Casey Vasquez took over as the baseball team head coach the same day.
Ardmore City Schools announced that it had taken immediate action by removing Kennedy from school premises and notified law enforcement upon learning of the inappropriate actions in a press release.
