With another season in the books, it’s time to honor the area athletes who laced up their sneakers to battle night in and night out on the hardwood.
The 2024-25 All-Ardmoreite boys basketball team is highlighted by mostly seniors, but also has a sophomore and a freshman who proved their talent as underclassmen.
The first team features Ardmore’s Demontrea Stevenson, Plainview’s Dane Dickerson, Springer’s Sammy Gardner, Ringling’s Kysen Fincher, Dickson’s Landon Eubank and Plainview’s Dominique Coursey.
Stevenson was instrumental for the Tigers this season as he averaged 15 points, six rebounds and three assists during his senior campaign.
Dickerson finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, 1.5 steal and one block per game. The senior averaged a double-double and led the Indians in rebounding and blocks.
Gardner, the SCC Player of the Year, averaged 20.9 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.4 steals and also tallied six double-doubles. The senior surpassed 1,300 points in his career.
Fincher is next and notched 12.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game as a senior.
Eubank shined during his sophomore year with 21.7 points per game on 42.4% shooting along with 6.1 rebounds per contest – leading the Comets in both categories.
Coursey, a freshman, rounds out the group as he averaged a team-high 14 points and also finished with eight rebounds, 1.5 assists and one steal per game.
2nd team
Ardmore’s Brylan Booker (9.5 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists), Dayveon Glover (5.5 points, 1.5 rebounds) and Marq Howard (4.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists) join Dickson’s Ta’Keylon Maxwell (11.2 points, 5.6 rebounds) D’Eric Drain (10.4 points, 3.1 steals) and Jaelon Douglas (8.2 points, 3.9 assists, 3.4 steals).
Meanwhile, Lone Grove also has a trio of selections – Cooper Baxter (10 points, 6 rebounds), Colt Harris (8 points, 7 rebounds) and Ryder Cameron (7 points, 6 rebounds).
Plainview’s Carter Fernando is also honored after he averaged 11 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Springer’s Braden Bostic (7.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.9 steals, 1.8 assists) and Darian Roberts (9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.8 steals) join Healdton’s Roo Franklin (9.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1 block).
Madill’s Ryan Anderson and Cash Cooper along with Marietta’s Luis Garcia made the cut after being named to the All-Lake Country Conference team.
Meanwhile, Wilson’s Cason Fulton and Case Kana round out the honorees as they were selected to the Oilfield All-Conference team.
