It’s officially November, so that means it’s time for one of Ardmore’s tastiest traditions to return. Next Thursday, the Ardmore Elks Lodge will be hosting the 23nd Annual Elks Lodge Spaghetti Day, and everyone is invited to attend.
Tickets for adults cost $8, and the meal will include a large portion of spaghetti with sauce, a salad, garlic bread, a dessert, and your choice of soda or water. Children ages 6 and under eat free. The event will be open for both lunch and dinner.
Ardmore Elk Vim Dahya said this is one of the organization’s largest fundraisers of the year. The money raised during the event will be used to help fund many of their charitable outreach programs. This includes the Elks’ work with the Ardmore Veteran’s Center and the Ardmore Soup Kitchen, the youth scholarship and drug awareness program, and free local events such as the Public Halloween Carnival and the Public Easter Egg Hunt.
Money raised during Spaghetti Day will also be used later this month when the Elks give away Thanksgiving meals to local families in need.
“Every Thanksgiving we have the Turkey Trot,” Dahya said. “This year, on Nov. 25 we’ll smoke about 275 to 300 turkeys and deliver them to local families in need. They get a box with a full smoked turkey and all the sides. Each box will feed four to six people.”
Spaghetti Day will take place at the Ardmore Elks Lodge located at 2526 S. Commerce St. on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the event, and attendees have the option of driving through to pick up their meal or eating inside the lodge.
To-go orders can be called in at 580-504-0090, 405-534-6504 or 580-276-0887. Delivery is available for orders of eight or more. The Carter County Sheriff’s Office will be helping with the deliveries.
