Investigators continued to work on leads Thursday in the murder of Carol Mowrer. Mowrer, 66, was found dead Wednesday morning in her home on Lakes Estates Road, located two miles outside of Tishomingo. The OSBI was called in Wednesday and its investigators, along with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Department, remained busy in an effort to identify suspects.

“We are interviewing everybody we feel like we need to,” Jessica Brown, Public Information Officer for the OSBI, said. “We are talking to family members, friends, anybody who would have had contact with her. We believe we know how she was killed and we will let the medical examiner make the announcement.”

Brown said the OSBI believes Mowrer was killed Tuesday and the OSBI brought in three investigators initially and will use as many as needed.
