Skeletal remains found in the Hickory Management Area last week have been positively identified by the medical examiner’s office as Jordan Buckaloo.

Buckaloo, 43, was reported missing in June 2011 and his vehicle had been found in that area. The Marietta man’s remains were discovered by a group of surveyors Jan. 31.

Local and state law enforcement officials conducted extensive searches for Buckaloo after he was reported missing and interviewed numerous people who saw Buckaloo just prior to him leaving a party.

A cause and manner of death have not been determined.

“It remains under investigation,” Love County Sheriff Joe Russell, said. “This discovery has helped with it. Jason (Undersheriff Jason Bone) met with the family early this evening and told them. It’s good for the family in that they can now have some closure.”
